The Revolution
Why is this work so important? Why am I passionate about starting, fuelling, and recruiting a Self-Love Revolution?
In a world that glorifies hustle culture, external validation, and endless achievement, we tend to neglect the most important relationships we will ever have—the relationship with ourselves. With all the marketing about how we should be living, how we should be looking and how much we should be earning, there is a constant invitation to self-judgement and self-criticism. The spiral of ‘not XXX enough’ is a powerful vortex into a lonely state of desperation, fuelled by low self-esteem.
Happy BIRTHday
Radical Self-Love held me every step of the way through these past 105 weeks. There was no suffering. There was all the shadow work, all the pain, fear, anxiety and exhaustion and yet no suffering. There was a quiet acceptance of the validity of the journey, a deep ancient wisdom that told me this is part of a life of truth because the only way to know the truth is to shine a light on everything, to see everything, to know and accept all that is. Every step of the way, there was the knowing that this is part of the journey to true self-actualisation.
Gracious Gratitude
I am vulnerable. Every breath I take is a miracle. Every cell in my body, engaging with every other cell, creating organisms and collaborating as one body which in turn connects and dances with other life forms around it.
Gravity holds this fragile form in place on a spinning planet in a galaxy that forms part of a multiverse… I am vulnerable and I am a miracle.
Let it go…
Remember the animated movie ‘Frozen’? There was a time a few years ago, when everywhere I went, the song ‘Let it go’ was playing. The simple title that held so much wisdom in three simple words, took root in my psyche - thanks Disney.
Revitalising Rest
I recently experienced a severe case of Covid. Not severe enough to be hospitalised but sever enough to stop me dead in my tracks.
Though I wasn't able to see it immediately, this was the first gift that this awful illness brought to me - I stopped.
Tribe to Thrive
Reading about the great truths of the universe and pondering them in solitude is one way to do it but these days I most definitely prefer discovering wisdom by living life, showing up and connecting with my community.
Conscious Living
The Power of Choice
Conscious living is about activating the very thing that distinguishes human beings from all other life forms on earth – choice. It is about presence and choice. Being awake, alert and active in our own life.
Choosing to be awake to what is, choosing to remain alert to possibilities and choosing to take action and what action to take (or not to take).
Toxic (?) Productivity
The Power of Rest & Receptivity
Does the idea of the holidays fill you with joy and relief, or does the conflict between your to-do list and the impending days off, strike dread and spark anxiety for you? If the latter is in any way applicable to you, then you may well be practicing Toxic Productivity.
Toxic (?) Positivity
Why would any intelligent human choose this kind of behaviour? It seems, by definition, to contain elements of denial, narcissism and masochism too.
Perhaps my story with toxic positivity can shed some light…
A Season of Letting Go
As Autumn blows in with chilly breezes that incite gold and russet leaves to dance at my feet, I am feeling reflective as I look back on the summer that has just passed.
Change is in the air…the seasons are shifting and so am I.
The Pillars of Self-Love
My definition of Self-Love is daily actions that support self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and self-advancement (or improvement or leadership); rooted in a deep commitment to the true essence of Self as an eternal energy being worthy of acceptance, love, expression and expansion.
Self-Love Magic
What is Self-Love?
The term ‘Self-Love’ seems to be everywhere these days. But what does it really mean to love yourself?
Magic Moon Me-time
The Moon definitely has an effect on the inhabitants of this beautiful planet. Human behaviour illustrates that the impact of the Moon goes beyond just the levels of light in the night sky.
The Call Home
What am I feeling?
Nothing and everything.
I feel the entire Universe within me and I feel the Void…
Self-Love is not a Spa Day
Spa Days, pamper sessions, massages, lunch with your besties...these are all fabulous ways to take me-time and practice self-care and they're a really great idea but they're NOT Self-Love.
Loving the skin you're in (Self-Care) is a natural and beautiful result of Self-Love. It isn't Self-Love though and not to be confused.
Goddess Energy - what's it all about?
Goddess represents the spark of Divine Energy that is within each of us and is the True Essence of who we are.
She represents Home, the state of Being that we all long for – Nirvana, Bliss.
Time is on your side…
Time is always on my side…so then why does it sometimes feel like the complete opposite? You must know the feeling I’m talking about – when it feels like there are a million things to do and only 3 minutes to do them in…time pressure!
Divine Timing
This week, I was reminded that Life is always about the right thing at the right time.
Trust Me, Beautiful
…as I grew from that day, I had witnessed such a clear illustration of trust, that the lesson was embedded in my psyche forever:
I am trustworthy and I know what it feels like to be trusted.
Your Life Matters
Your life matters. It does. You are of immense value to the world. Do you acknowledge this? Do you treat yourself as the valuable being that you are?
