Love Me, Beautiful - The Playbook

Since I can remember, I have been intrigued (okay, maybe obsessed) with the idea of self-love. When I was a child, I would be confused by seeing adults take actions that were self-harming or even just neglectful. I am sure most children see the world and human behaviour with this clarity and this becomes dulled by life as we grow. For me, it didn’t fade though. It’s not that I didn’t understand it – I could feel so deeply the pain and sorrow of the suffering soul. It was more that I knew there must be ways to ease the pain and suffering. At first I didn’t see it clearly, I just had a sense that it was there…a way to feel better, to live better, and to love better.

Somewhere along the line in my journey to adulthood I got to grips with the concept of personal accountability and that changed everything. Taking full ownership for myself, my actions, my thoughts and the results that I experienced in my life brought clarity to my inkling that there was a better way. This is when I decided the better way is love and more specifically, as a first step, self-love. I started writing my thoughts down and playing with my ideas about self-love. At some point I started writing a book and then I developed a course.

The book was lost (on a laptop not backed up) and then re-written and eventually I re-wrote it for a third time in the form of a bitesize, easy-handling Playbook. I called it a “Playbook” because the dictionary defines a playbook as a set of rules or guidelines as would be used by a sports team. I think this is a great idea – for people to create their own Playbooks for life. We do it anyway subconsciously but by actively writing it down, I think it becomes real and takes root. I encourage you to have fun with it.

See what happens inside you and around you in the days that you are playing with your own ideas and creating your very own playbook for a life fuelled by Self-Love. This book is for all ages, gender and sexuality affiliations. I fully embrace and celebrate all human beings regardless of how you wish to express yourself. I am fluid in the expression of who I am and as an ambassador for self-love, every day I hope that Love will grow in each and every heart on the planet to one day fully eradicate hate and bias. Hopefully this book will be part of that.

This book is a call to action… to face yourself, to accept yourself, to heal and to begin to truly love yourself. Self-love is your true purpose and the foundation of your personal legacy.
