Day 4 – Admire
Daily Insight
Good morning goddess.
You know what to do - say it out loud - Good morning goddess!
Today is all about admiration. Don’t freak out – your body is worthy of admiration. Think about what you’ve been doing the past three days. You and your body are reconnected and through acceptance and appreciation, you’re basically a power couple! Even power couples have to pay attention and put in the effort though and today is a way to practice that by truly admiring your physical form.
New studies suggest that admiration is rooted in the same area of the brain where basic traits like anger and fear reside. The same area of the brain is strongly interconnected with neural networks that regulate some of the body's most basic functions, such as breathing and blood pressure, which are essential to our survival.
If the need for admiration is basic to survival, then no wonder we’re always seeking it and I say – let’s stop berating ourselves for needing admiration. Also though, why not start right here, with yourself? If this is a basic human need, then just as you feed and clothe yourself, for the sake of your survival, you should definitely consider starting to give yourself some admiration.
Let this sink in – your need for admiration is a very real, neurological requirement. What makes one form of admiration nobler than another? Social norms and expectations suggest that we can receive admiration for our work, or our philosophical thoughts but not for our strong thighs or broad shoulders. Damn that!
Rise goddess, rise and admire yourself in every way. Admire your form, your uniqueness and your beauty. Admire your body parts, admire the differences that are unique to you. Admire your very own imperfect perfection!
Good morning beautiful, strong & empowered goddess.
Daily Affirmation
I have a hot, goddess body – worthy of admiration.
Call to Action
Think about a lover, past or present. Think about how you felt when you looked at your lover...the admiration that you held for them. Now turn that thinking to yourself…look upon yourself as you would a beloved lover.
🖤 Write a love letter to yourself with a focus on your body – write it as you would write a letter to a lover. Use your name as often as possible in the letter and be descriptive about all the things you admire about your beloved body.
🖤 After you have finished writing your letter, read it out loud to yourself in front of the mirror, making eye contact as often as possible. Say the affirmation out loud after you have read your letter to yourself.
🖤 Stay in front of the mirror for a while. As you look into the mirror, focus on the parts of you that you mentioned in your love letter. As you look at your body, see yourself through the eyes of a lover who has nothing but pure admiration for you. No judgement, no questions, just pure admiration.
🖤 Listen to the Daily Meditation.
🖤 Use the Daily Affirmation. If you can, remember some of what you said in your letter and combine this with the affirmation today. Say it out loud, write it down, think it to yourself and use it as often as possible throughout the day. At the end of today, say it to yourself again before you go to sleep.
