Day 3 – Appreciate

Daily Insight

Good morning goddess.

Yes, this is your new standard greeting, so say it out loud and get used it – Good morning goddess!

Today is appreciation day. Your body is so busy all of the time. Circulating, digesting, regenerating and all sorts of other functions are happening every moment of every day. This is something worthy of appreciation for sure! The human body is a walking miracle machine. Even bodies that are different from the majority, bodies with missing parts or malfunctions. The fact that these bodies continue to operate all day every day is perhaps even more of a miracle.

As you have connected with your body and accepted it exactly as it is, there must be some things about your body that you can actively appreciate.

William James, well-known psychologist and philosopher, said, “The deepest principle of human nature is a craving to be appreciated.”  If we are honest with ourselves, we all want and need to feel valued for who we are and recognised for our contributions and accomplishments.

The best place to start is with yourself. Your physical body has made great contributions and accomplishes great things on a daily basis. It is easier to appreciate something that is so obviously doing what it is designed to do, so today is the day for you to go ahead and appreciate your body.

You don’t have to like the bits that you would like to change – just appreciate everything that IS working well.

Daily Affirmation

I appreciate my miraculous body.

Call to Action

Think about someone that you really appreciate. Now think about yourself in the same light of appreciation.

🖤 Write a list of things that you appreciate about your body. Let yourself run free here – it can be visual appreciation or functional.

🖤 After you have finished writing your list, read each item on your list out loud, starting with “I appreciate my xxx” and followed with the affirmation after each list item.

🖤 Now go and look at yourself in the mirror. As you look into the mirror, focus on one or more of the body bits that you listed. As you look at the body part/s from your list, repeat the statement of appreciation with the affirmation at the end. Try to stay in front of the mirror for 4 or 5 minutes.

🖤 Listen to the Daily Meditation.

🖤 Use the Daily Affirmation. As with the previous days, say it out loud, write it down, think it to yourself and use it as often as possible throughout the day. At the end of today, say it to yourself again before you go to sleep. If possible, listen to the meditation again before sleeping as well.
