Day 1 - Anchor

Daily Insight

Today is about connecting, or reconnecting with your body. That’s all that is required.
Whatever the size, shape or condition of your body, the fact that you are reading this means that you have a physical body. You have physical form and occupy physical space in the universe. Just let that sink in. You are you in this body. This moment is a moment for you because your body is operating. Your life and everything in it, can only be experienced by you because you have a body – you are in a physical form. Whatever your belief is, your physicality is very real in this life.

The definition of the word physical as I am using it:

Physical /ˈfɪzɪk(ə)l/

adjective

1.       relating to the body as opposed to the mind. E.g.: "a range of physical and mental challenges"

2.       relating to things perceived through the senses as opposed to the mind; tangible or concrete. E.g.: "the physical world"

The key word in this definition is “tangible”. How often do you consider your body and the fact that it is indeed a very tangible and ‘real’ thing? How often do you check in with your body? How often do you touch your body? How often do you look at your body?

As you read these words you are breathing and thinking and on a cellular level, your body is responding to the words in many more ways than that. Connect for the moment with your breath. Connect with how your chest rises and falls as you breathe in and out. Connect with the fact that this unconscious act of breathing is what is keeping you alive. Your lungs are breathing, your heart is pumping, your skin is holding, your muscles working and your bones holding strong. Not to mention the rest of your internal organs, fluids and fat cells. Your body is doing so much in any given moment, in order for you to merely exist in that same moment. You are in existence in this life because you have a body.

I exist in this life because of my body.

Daily Inspired Action

Think about how you are feeling in your body today. How does your body really feel?

 🖤 Write down everything that you feel in your physical form today – this is your own private experience, so you can write it all down without fear of judgement from anyone else. How does your body feel inside and out? After you have finished writing and you’re sure you have got it all out, read it back to yourself and then say the affirmation again.

🖤 Now go and look at yourself in the mirror. A full-length mirror is preferable but if you don’t have one, any mirror will do. Really look at yourself. Take in your physicality. As you look into the mirror, say the affirmation to yourself as many times as possible but at least once.

🖤 Touch your skin – anywhere or everywhere. Lightly stroke, squeeze & pinch yourself – you are very real and your physical body deserves some connection time. Say the affirmation again.

🖤 Use the Daily Affirmation. Say it out loud, write it down, think it to yourself and use it as often as possible throughout the day. At the end of today, say it to yourself again before you go to sleep. If possible, listen to the meditation again before sleeping as well.
